Pacific Symphony's 2020 Virtual Opening Night Celebration
Saturday, September 26, 2020

Dear Friends,

“It was the best of times and the worst of times,”  -- Opening Night in a Pandemic!

I could not be more thrilled to be chairing Pacific Symphony’s 2020-21 Classical Opening Night Virtual Celebration and Concert.  Although I had accepted the honor of chairing when circumstances were different and I planned to celebrate with all of you in person, my reason for chairing has remained the same: Pacific Symphony is a part of my community and my family.  During these uncertain times, I want our orchestra not just to survive, but continue to grow and serve the community.

With this in mind, I invite you to Pacific Symphony’s Virtual Opening Night: Music in Bloom. We may not be able to celebrate in our concert hall, but we need your support to ensure our future. This virtual event will be a night like no other—beginning with Zoom breakout cocktail parties and catered dinners brought to your home, followed by a broadcasted musical program, and then culminating in a post-concert reception via Zoom. Our offerings are completely customizable to ensure your comfort and safety. You will not see the option for our usual “Syndicated Tickets,” but if you wish to syndicate a table with friends, we can offer the same benefits listed at that table level.  If you wish to syndicate with others but are uncomfortable meeting at one location, you can customize your evening in your own home.

Much like other years, this Opening Night will celebrate our musicians and honor everything they provide for our community. This year, however, our musicians have been living in uncertainty, much like the rest of the world.  The funds raised from this event will go towards Pacific Symphony’s artistic, educational and community engagement programming.  I humbly ask that you participate at the highest level you are able, in order to ensure the future of Pacific Symphony. Thank you!

With gratitude,

Judy Whitmore
